1. Why do you think Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs created monuments?

I think Ancient Egyptians Pharaohs created monuments because they wanted everyone to know that they were powerful and could do anything. I also think that they built them because they wanted a lot of attention as an important person. They also wanted their legacy to live on forever, from their culture of Ancient Egypt. They built the pyramids as tombs and they believed they needed everything from mortal life in the afterlife. They had a lot of treasure in there and they wanted to protect it from grave robbers.

2. What monuments in our society are similar? (be sure to provide explanations and graphics).

Well there are a few of them and are all quite famous, such as:

The Eiffel Tower The Sydney Opera House Saint Basil's Cathedral

I think these monuments are similar to the pyramids because they are really huge and they have become synonymous with the places where they were built.

3. How did using Google Docs as the main portal for collaboration help you with this assignment?

I believe that it helped me a lot because Google Docs has features such as presentation and document. These helped me because I had a document we could put our notes and script on, and Mrs. Narsiman sent us presentations to follow.

4. What did you learn from this assignment?

I learned a lot from this assignment, for instant, I learnt all about Hatshepsut and how she was the first female pharaoh but ruled dressed as a man. I also learnt about her religious beliefs and how she came to rule. Most of all I learnt more about how to plan my own script based on my ideas.

5. What was challenging?

I believe that the most challenging part was creating the movie, I say this because we had some trouble recording on imovie. Sometimes it just stopped and we had to start again and then the background noise would get recorded so we would have to move to a quieter place to do it again.

6. Which schoolwide learning results were evident in this assignment?

I think that nearly all of them were evident in our assignment. Collaborating Constructively, because it was a team project and we required each other, but unfortunately I was sick twice. Think Creatively because we tried to think up sequences to make our movie different so we added a riot to the film. Learn Enthusiastically, Jesper and I learnt a lot about Hatshepsut (look at #4) and researched on a lot of websites and books.
